About Us

Klamath Systems is a different kind of business. Our core products are the hardware sales and networking solutions found on this site. But our focus is on providing the services that our customers really want. A computer is a tool, and our goal is to help you accomplish what you need to get done with those tools.

An open business model

We practice what we call an "open business model". Klamath Systems is not just some company, it is a collection of individuals working together. You are welcome to join. If you have expertise, or an idea, contact us. Many of the applications we develop are open source, so you are encouraged to contribute, or use them yourself, free of charge. Of course, we also provide support and consulting for our own products and many of the other applications we use.

We don't pretend to have expertise in every area, but we hate to turn down a job. So we actively seek out professionals with an entrepeneurial bent who would like to work for themselves. Klamath Systems doesn't "hire" you, but we will partner with you and work to help you reach your goal. If you have a business plan, but lack the techical know how to realize it, we can help. If you have technical skills and want to be your own boss, we'd like to connect you with those seeking your skills. If you have an existing business but need an application developed, network installation or upgrade, computer systems and equipment, or a web presence, that's what we do.

Products

Our products are what we sell. We sell computers, but to be honest, we don't make much profit selling boxes. In fact, you could probably find them cheaper somewhere else if you're willing to work at it. We sell quality systems, but we don't presume to tell you what you want. Try building a customized computer system here. If you don't like the choices our website give you, or have a question about some component, you can contact us and we'll call you. Or even drop by for a visit in some areas. How many websites do that?

These days, a computer almost *needs* a network. We can take care of that, too, whether you're a home user that wants a second computer to share a DSL or modem connection, or if you're a business that wants dedicated service, with a web presence and VPN access. We'll run wires, install network cards, deal with internet providers and telcos, provide hosting, or install and manage your own server if that's what you want. Without all the headaches. And we won't try to sell you more than you need.

So you're on the network and that's great, but you want the network to come to you. Despite the dot-com crash, the internet *is* a great leveler, and small businesses can use the internet to compete. Look at us. We can build a personalize home page for you almost as cheap as you could do it yourself. Or we can work with you develop an e-commerce application that brings customers from around the world to you. You don't want some cookie-cutter site, you want something that reflects your style and communicates to your customers. Maybe your work is computers, so what can we do for you? We can help make you more productive. We have tools (some for free) that we've found helpful ourselves. Some we developed in house, others we've found elsewhere that have proven useful. We can provide training, not just with tools, but with methods. We believe design, coding, and testing are equal parts of the development process.
